Janine is the owner of ‘Scharlei’, a beautiful coffee & gift shop in Loenen a/d Vecht. We accidentally found this hide out place when we passed it by during our boat vacation in the Summer. We got to know each other a bit more and after some time Janine casually told me that she has a pretty living room. Pretty to say the least! It is gorgeous. "Maybe you would like to use it for some pictures of your table linen?" Did she just really ask me this? Hell yes! Together with my friend we were the lord and lady for one day! We had a picnic, photographed, danced and wondered...a lot.

Janine and her family has lived here for almost 17 years. And as with all old Dutch estates, it has a name of course. ‘Bydorp’, situated alongside the river the ‘Vecht’. A unique, historical country estate that was built in 1695 with an impressive size of approx. 3 acres. Their home has a beautifully landscaped garden at the front, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning view of the river. If you want you can take a swim in the Vecht right from the garden, where they have an impressive pier. It’s easy to get your head lost in the garden of tranquillity and peace here. What a cozy, yet impressive estate. Over the years, this nationally listed land house has been carefully restored while retaining all the characteristic period features, to become an impressive and cosy family home.
